Lewis Williams launches 2026 campaign
Local professional boxer and Volunteer Ambassador Lewis Williams is stepping back into the fundraising ring in 2026 with a new challenge to raise £20,000 in support of The Myton Hospices.
Following the success of his 2025 initiative, '20 in 25', which raised an impressive £20,823, Lewis is continuing his commitment with a new campaign titled '20 in 26'. The challenge aims to generate a further £20,000 to support Myton's vital services, bringing him closer to his long-term pledge of raising £1 million for the charity throughout his boxing career.
Lewis' motivation stems from personal experience of Myton's care through its Myton at Home service. Witnessing first-hand the impact of compassionate hospice support on patients and their families has driven his ongoing commitment to ensuring others can access the same essential care.
Building on the momentum of last year's fundraising, '20 in 26' will contribute towards specialist palliative and end of life care for people across Coventry and Warwickshire. Like many hospices nationwide, Myton is facing increasing financial pressures alongside growing demand for its services. Lewis' £20,000 target could fund a hospice bed at Myton for 45 days, providing comfort, dignity and expert care to patients and their loved ones.
Throughout 2026, Lewis plans to host a range of activities including auctions, participation in Myton events, collaborations with commercial sponsors, and engagement with the local community through Cleary's Gym. One of the first opportunities to support the campaign will be an auction of signed shirts from the Haas F1 Team drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, taking place at Supercar Fest at Sywell Aerodrome in May.
Speaking about the new challenge, Lewis said:
"The support we received last year was incredible. We've got some exciting plans for 2026, from auctions and events to working with sponsors and the amazing community at Cleary's Gym.
"What's really stood out is just how many people have relied on Myton's support when families need it most. We're determined to raise these funds while bringing people together along the way. There's lots happening behind the scenes, and we'd love for everyone to get involved and support this wonderful charity."
Jason Levy, Director of Fundraising and Supporter Development at The Myton Hospices, added:
"Everyone at Myton is incredibly grateful to Lewis, his team, sponsors and supporters. Each year we care for thousands of patients and their families, and we simply couldn't do this without the generosity of our community.
"Lewis embodies that community spirit. We are immensely proud of everything he does as our Volunteer Ambassador to raise both vital funds and awareness of hospice care. We're excited to see what he achieves this year."
Lewis remains committed to supporting Myton year after year, using his platform to raise awareness and funds for hospice care. '20 in 26' marks the next chapter in that journey, with a series of fundraising activities planned throughout the year to help reach the £20,000 target and continue making a meaningful difference for local patients and families.
